Since January 2017, we have been blessed to be able to use the most incredible house as our Promise Harbor home base. What is even more of a blessing, our landlord, a pastor, has been a Godsend. He is kind and patient, and always willing to make repairs when something is not working properly. What a welcome change from our last facility!

It has served all of our needs so well, and we are so proud to say that we will not be moving when the lease is up in January. On the heels of Promise Harbors first birthday, the landlord has agreed to renew the lease for another year and we cannot wait to see what new opportunities await us in this house.

We believe that God has us here for a very specific purpose that we have only just begun to uncover. Help us secure our facility so that we can continue to be used by God for His Glory!

outdoor chalk in box kids kneelingAs part of our rental agreement last year, the landlord agreed to rent to us for additional years without raising the price, so here we are again. We are needing to raise the remaining $5000 of the $6000 rental agreement. This may seem like a large amount but I know God is able! He has always provided for us thus far. Our desire is to have the total remaining amount raised by December 31st, 2017. There are 11 weeks remaining until the end of December, that means we need to raise $455 per week to reach our goal! That’s only $65 dollars a day! If 5 people were to give $100 per week, we would reach our goal in no time!

This past month, we had a visit from some very special people. The directors of Servants of Christ International came to visit us! For those that do not know, Servants of Christ is the missions organization we are under at Promise Harbor. This visit was special because it was our first time meeting in person (we have only previously talked over skype and phone calls).

We loved giving them the Promise Harbor tour and vision for the future. They got to experience the morning routine at Promise Harbor: parents coming for drop off, staff getting the kids ready for their day, and they even got to meet our 5 egg layers in our chicken coop. We talked about our desire to see the program grow, and have our own land so that Promise Harbor can have a permanent location…but more on that later!

They came at a perfect time. They were able to pray for healing for Cold’s broken arm, and that God would grant us the desires of our heart for Promise Harbor. God has given us a vision that is vast and expansive and full of passion, we hope that we can carry it out to bring Him glory.

We are so thankful that God has blessed us with such caring and supportive directors as we navigate this missionary life.

Where We Are

We are located in a town called Leogane. It is about an hour outside of Port-au-Prince. When the earthquake struck in 2010, Leogane was at the epicenter. In the past there had been a lot of organizations helping the people of Leogane, but most have pulled out in the last year and a half. Our facility is located 2 minutes from the main road making it very accessible to those who are serving.
